EITB is a publicly owned audiovisual group that operates broadcast media in the Basque Country. It has three business units for creating and distributing content: TV, Radio and Online. The three are currently run jointly under the flagship company EITB Media. The broad range of content offered by EITB includes news and entertainment in both basque and spanish.
EITB respond to the needs of Basque society with a range of audiovisual products including news & current affairs, educational content and entertainment of a plural, attractive, high- quality nature, to promote the Basque language and culture and to help normalise and extend the use of Basque in the current audiovisual ecosystem.
Audiovisual is digital
EITB’s strategy to adapt to the changing media landscape. It’s a project focused on ensuring that Basque audiovisual content remains accessible and relevant in the digital age.
Key goals of this project include: Making sure Basque language and culture are prominently featured in digital formats; using digital platforms to connect with a wider audience, both within and outside the Basque Country; continuing to fulfill EITB’s role as a public service broadcaster in the digital realm, and ensuring the long-term viability of EITB in a competitive
digital market.
PRIMERAN
This digital platform includes basque productions and contents in Basque in one single space, and can be accessed from the phone, laptop and TV screen.
It is a platform developed with technology and design in compliance with new forms of media consumption, designed to become the new one stop shop for all Basque audiovisual production and contents in Basque involving cinema, music, gastronomy and more.
ORAIN
A new information system through WhatsApp, the most important and widespread social media app, offering a source to get sent attractive and trustworthy news from directly.

MAKUSI
Makusi is the new digital ecosystem in Basque language for children and teenagers. It provides a safe online environment for users and brings together the best entertainment offer in Basque for both children and young people. Makusi has two main pillars: the digital platform of audiovisual contents in Basque and the members’ club.
GUAU
The new digital space designed to offer and distribute sound related content in an accessible and attractive way. Highlighting the value of diverse content and interactiveness so that the audience can manage the genre, songs and style they like best, all while having the opportunity to customise playlists and follow channels and programming within the inline offer.
